Water Test

Schedule Inspection

A residential water sample lab test is a scientific analysis of a home's water supply. This test involves collecting a water sample from a faucet or wellhead and sending it to our partner the Wake County Assessment lab where it is analyzed for bacteria (like coliform and E. coli), heavy metals (such as lead, arsenic, and mercury), nitrates, pesticides, pH levels, and other chemical or mineral imbalances.

Why Test Your Home's Water?

For homeowners and buyers, especially those with private wells, water testing is crucial. Municipal water supplies are regulated and routinely tested for safety, but private wells are the homeowner's responsibility. Even municipal water can be affected by old plumbing systems, corroded pipes, or contamination from nearby industrial or agricultural activity. Testing is the only way to ensure that the water entering your home is safe for drinking, cooking, and bathing.

How Our Water Testing Works

Samples from the home are collected and brought to the Wake County assessment lab. There are two tests that can be performed: a bacteria test, which is the most common, and an inorganic test that screens for metals and other minerals.

Water testing can be added to your home inspection or scheduled on its own. Our licensed professionals serve Raleigh North Carolina and the surrounding communities, and the results give you a clear picture of the water entering your home before you buy or while you own it.
